Come visit us and experience Niagara Wine Country hospitality like no other. Our Creek Geeks at the tasting bar are some of the most friendly and knowledgeable folks in town. You'll feel immediately at home in our retail store, so relax, pull up a spot at the bar, and let us blow your mind with expressive, powerful VQA wines! The winery boasts one of the oldest and largest underground barrel cellars in Niagara and an amazing covered deck with a panoramic view of our vineyards.
Summertime is designed for a glass of Creekside wine on your deck. Don't have a deck? No worries, we do! Winery visitors are welcome to come by, bask in the sun and enjoy any day of the week. Whether you're looking to chat with like-minded wine folk, spy on the wine-making team over the railing, or just enjoy a panoramic view of wine country, we invite you to come and hang out at Creekside.
Summer weekends are the ideal time to visit the winery. In addition to great wine, you'll have the opportunity to savour the bold flavours of Chef Nathan Young's cuisine. Chef Nathan, of In the Smoke Cookery, explores his love of barbecue, and has a rustic approach to preparing locally sourced food. With an industrial Southern Pride smoker in tow, he has made The Deck at Creekside his home. Come by for lunch and a glass of wine, or even a local beer and enjoy the culinary bounty that Niagara has to offer under our covered deck. An amazing taste experience in a beautiful setting! Creekside has been doing its premium thing on the Niagara Peninsula since 1997, beginning as a small winery with 11 acres under vine. Over the years this determined little winery expanded its vineyards to include its premium red growing site, Queenston Road Vineyard, located in the St. David’s Bench. The winery, located in Jordan, has become a wine-lover’s destination, located slightly off the beaten path, but still in the heart of Niagara wine country.
The Creekside team decided early-on to make the relatively atypical (for Niagara) grape varieties of Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah the core focus of the wine portfolio.
Creekside's portfolio is the story of a winery that refuses to be pigeon-holed. The winery is a bastion for inspired experimentation, with a winemaking team that delights in defying Niagara winemaking conventions. At the time, both grapes were newcomers to the Ontario winemaking scene, but were also showing tremendous potential in the Niagara climate. Over the years, new grape varieties, winemaking techniques and wine styles were embraced by the winery. With each vintage, Creekside houses a throng on experimental wine batches and blends as an ongoing push towards discovering something new and exciting to go into bottle. The winery mantra: Make great wine, and never stop experimenting.
The desire to be different has paid off for the Creekside crew. Across varietals, styles, and vintages, Creekside wines continue to scoop up accolades from peers and industry professionals alike. As a testament to the consistency of the winemaking team and the strength of the bottled product, several nominations for Canadian Winery of the Year have been awarded by various authorities at home and abroad, and the winemaking team was also awarded Winemaker of the Year in Ontario in 2008, and Vineyard Innovator of the year in 2012.
Today, the winery is now run by a group of like-minded industry professionals, providing a formidable yet quirky mix of winemaking know-how and sales and marketing savvy. Their ongoing focus for Creekside is to continue to produce wines that are unmistakably distinctive, push conventions and reflect the unique micro-climates of the Niagara Peninsula. The winery continues to be a pioneer in the industry, following its own path and having heaps of fun along the way. Visitors to Creekside can enjoy an approachable, honest and friendly atmosphere, serving up samples of delicious locally grown wines.
