Dense aromas of forest floor, black cherry, black raspberry, herbes de Provence and leather. The palate is linear and focused with bright red fruit, fine, tight tannins and a savoury, umami finish. Starting to drink well now but will continue to evolve over the next 5-7 years and will hold for a decade after that.
2020 was a remarkable vintage for winemaking in Ontario everywhere, but particularly for Bordeaux red grapes from the Serluca Family Vineyard just south of Virgil. This seriously age-worthy single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon stunned us at harvest with its depth of ripe flavour and structure. We left these big wines in barrel for an extra 8 months in profound respect of their potential.
